Corn on the cob, turkey, pepper, onion, courgette and tomato kebab skewers, hot dogs using high quailty 98% local pork (not the horrible frankfurter type!) with ketchup and mustard. For dessert fruit kebabs with British strawberries (using British strawberries is very important to me, imported strawberries especially those from Spain are awful!) with a drizzle of honey, a sprinkle of cinnamon and Cornish clotted cream (wiki clotted cream if you don't know what it is)
Today is the hottest day of the year so far in the UK so we decided to make the most of it and have a little BBQ in the garden with the kids.
We are not going to buy a BBQ grill especially to use twice a year with the weather the UK has so the skewers and sausages were oven cooked (these can also be grilled or fried) and the corn on the cob simply boiled in salted water before covering with a knob of butter.
I didn't have the hot dogs, as they are not gluten free and I can not stand gluten free bread, I did have the skewers though, which both me and the kids had second and even thirds helpings of same goes for the fruit kebab.
Other than pictured (chicken instead of turkey) cooking other chicken products such as strips, burgers, drumsticks, thighs, hot wings and eating burgers, bbq ribs and drinking beer is another very British thing to have at a bbq oh and bbqing in the rain to!
