Chocolate Jello Bites by claremanson Chocolate Jello Bites by claremanson
Dark and White chocolate shells filled with Strawberry Jello.

I have been wanting to work with jello for such a long time now, normally I only use it for trifle but thanks to the lovely :iconemerald753: who I must dedicate these too I have been inspired at last to find new ways of using it.

I was intending on covering the top of the jello with chocolate but I thought the white chocolates looked so vibrant and much more appealing for the kids uncovered.

TIP: Do not leave the jello to cool for too long before adding to the chocolate shells else when you come to pour your jello into your shells it might not be as smooth as you may like! I still have much to learn from the master of jello!

More from the lovely :iconemerald753: If you have a love for all things colourful, jello and cute marshmallows, she is must to follow.

Nice :) jello always makes me think of being sick so I don't think of it as a dessert, but I think this would be a nice combination of textures and flavors. Other than having it during illness I've tried 'jello shots' with alcohol once or twice and that was quite potent. I bet those would be good with a chocolate liqueur in the chocolate ones and a white chocolate liqueur in the white chocolate ones.

where do you get the chocolate shells? and maybe, I was wondering, if you could try experimenting to make something, healthy, and delicious. Nothing's better then something that tastes yummy, but is healthy, like, you know?

I made the shells using my silicone heart ice tray molds.
Despite what it may seem my kids have a lot more healthy than unhealthy foods, these photos you see are just treats given in very small portions that last for days. Normally i just give them an orange, a yogurt, a bag of raisins etc as is so nothing interesting to photograph. Everything else i make i have already photographed before so see no point in taking again like my fruit salad, smoothie, cakes with berries or banana or trifles. Also about 75% of what I bake is for other people for birthdays, get togethers etc and they don't want healthy, they want to indulge.
Summer however might be a different story, that is when all the berries come into season here, i do not buy them out of season as they are imported and taste horrid. Summer is the only time I am really inspired to properly experiment withe them plus they are really expensive so can only buy them occasionally.

ohh, I see. Yeah, that's what my Mom gives me all the time. Her homemade cream cheese, honey, and cranberrie bread is AMAZING! That's very nice, baking something delicious for your eyes and your mouth for a special event.

Now, this delicious jello concoction, what a brilliant idea, i have to try it myself sometime...you know i made some rainbow tapioca in flower shapes and was ready for their photo shoot a few days back, this was the first for me i swear, they tasted so great, i ate them all, and my son looked at me as if i was a crazy woman...quite a funny scene...in my kitchen three nights back...

why don't you call it jelly anymore?
Reply
:iconclaremanson:

it saves a lot of confusion, most of the people who follow my stuff are American, what we call jelly they think of as jam, the amount of times i have confused them over it you would not believe! Plus I watch and look up so many American tv shows and websites I find myself saying jello in conversations with my friend, they always giggle at me but i can not help it anymore.
