Halloween Cheesecake

Description

Some would say it too early but....it is always Halloween in my house! (Those skulls for example have been on my mantel piece for years with my other larger skulls and dragons!)

An Oreo biscuit base, a light and smooth Oreo cheesecake center with a touch of orange food colouring paste which looked a lot more orange in real life (I would have added pumpkin but we don't get it here!), the odd taste of chopped up chunks of Yorkie chocolate, Oreo and chocolate digestives to get you surprised and wondering what you are eating which I think is great for Halloween, a rich dark chocolate ganache and white chocolate spider web.

To balance out the sweetness I didn't add much sugar to the cheesecake layer, instead most of the sweetness came from the Oreo creams I removed and put to one side when making the cheesecake base with only a tbsp or two of added icing sugar. This turned out to be a great idea! The rich chocolate ganache and base with the light cheesecake filling made it a very moreish cheesecake rather than a sickly sweet one and maybe even the best cheesecake I have ever made. As most of you know I normally bake gluten free but even I couldn't help but have a few spoonfuls of this myself! Normally I would never risk a stomach ache by eating gluten but I had to make an exception for this, it was that good!
