Halloween Cheesecake by claremanson Halloween Cheesecake by claremanson
Some would say it too early but....it is always Halloween in my house! (Those skulls for example have been on my mantel piece for years with my other larger skulls and dragons!)

An Oreo biscuit base, a light and smooth Oreo cheesecake center with a touch of orange food colouring paste which looked a lot more orange in real life (I would have added pumpkin but we don't get it here!), the odd taste of chopped up chunks of Yorkie chocolate, Oreo and chocolate digestives to get you surprised and wondering what you are eating which I think is great for Halloween, a rich dark chocolate ganache and white chocolate spider web.

To balance out the sweetness I didn't add much sugar to the cheesecake layer, instead most of the sweetness came from the Oreo creams I removed and put to one side when making the cheesecake base with only a tbsp or two of added icing sugar. This turned out to be a great idea! The rich chocolate ganache and base with the light cheesecake filling made it a very moreish cheesecake rather than a sickly sweet one and maybe even the best cheesecake I have ever made. As most of you know I normally bake gluten free but even I couldn't help but have a few spoonfuls of this myself! Normally I would never risk a stomach ache by eating gluten but I had to make an exception for this, it was that good!

cool! if the wind will stop then my decor outside would look more amazing but today said it was the last day for the Santa Anna winds @_@ i had to fix some more parts today bec. a tree branch ripped off and knocked down a light and then my hat blew off and the sun hit me right in my face *UG* it was so painfully bright and unpleasant BUT i think i secured things again and i got rid of the broken branch ^-^

Goodness. I had a hard time decorating the spiderweb on the top of the cheesecake!
It keeps dripping down to the table and it looks nothing like a spiderweb!
I wonder how you managed it to do it without even getting it messy?

I am making a tutorial for the webs for next week but basically I made them on greaseproof/wax paper, set them in the fridge then put them on top the cheesecake.

Ah, thanks for the information! I just start on baking so I'm not really good at frosting ^^" I didn't know you could actually do that because I thought it sticks.... Well, thanks for that again!

As long as you use the paper it will be fine, just slide them off with a very sharp knife to loosen and make sure they are fully set and cold before you do.

It went well, actually!
even though some were chipped off because I was too hard on the knife :iconmingplz:
But the web looks nothing like a real spiderweb though because probably I'm too concentrated on making the
spiderweb that my hands wobble abit ^^"

The more you practice the less you wobble :)

I love your enthusiasm for Halloween! It's my favorite holiday of the year, so I'm always trying to share some ghoulish, black-catty, pumpkin-spiced, undying love with my friends throughout the whole month of October. Happy October 1st, by the way!
