Jam Crumble Tarts by claremanson Jam Crumble Tarts by claremanson
Strawberry jam gluten free tartlets with a sweet crumble topping.

I am a little obsessed with all the foodie pages on facebook but rarely inspired to actually make any of it until now! As soon as I saw the recipe for this on uktv [link] I just had to make it as crumble is one of my favourite desserts and I love jam. Naturally I made some adjustments to suite my needs. I used gluten free flour, took out the coconut and halved the recipe to make 3 individual tartlets instead of 1 big one. I'm not one for making the same flavour of recipe over and over again but this was amazing, I will have to make it again.

I love these individual sweets too :)
I made tiny cheesecakes, but I need to double the topping next time...  www.cafofodalu.com.br/fogao/ch…

I also got the recipe from BBC, like I've noticed a few of yours are from there too :D I love that site! :D

They look yummy :)
I much prefer the bbcgoodfood website now, the only difference really is that site has user reviews which I much prefer as it is very useful in giving suggestions to alter the recipe and if it's worth making in the first place :)

I can remember the chocolate sponge....by it only used to be served up with that lumpy custard when
I was at school. The sponge was really nice though.

:giggle: i don't remember much of school meals other than in primary school we would get jelly and ice cream for end of term treats and i would never choose the black forest gateau, it was horrible! All I used to eat in secondary school was chips with curry sauce until it started turning my braces orange!

Yea....I think I only had school meals in primary school. That was until they introduced packed lunches.
I think after that, nearly everyone had them!

Bahaha. I would save for the many things lying around the house (and the crazy baking session last weekend wore me out - made 6 things over 2 days). There's creme brulees in the fridge from today's session and I have to leave them alone because I'm waiting for daylight to take photos.

So toast it is. I'd so rather that tart. The crust looks divine. :grump:

:giggle: I had a busy baking session over the weekend too! Eclairs, Dirt Cupcakes, swiss roll and something else. I was worried the Eclairs would have to been thrown away but my husband and best friend finished ALL of them off when the kids were not well.

Eclaiiiiirs. One of my favourites. Oh now I want one of those instead.

I wish you could just bake one of a thing. It's annoying making batches of stuff then trying to find mouths for them.

It was the first time I have ever wanted to make them, I have always had a big aversion to them thanks to the nickname growing up of chocolate eclair...They were tasty, tasted how they should have but did not rise enough so I ended up instead of filling one light and bubbly eclair with cream I have to stick two together! I think either it was too wet or it was the gluten free flour or the recipe, must find a better recipe to try again.

I really admire your tenacity, having to work with gluten-free flour. Gluten is such an important part of the chemical reaction in dry flour mixes, I can only imagine how challenging it must be.
