Mixed Fruit and Yogurt Cupcake by claremanson Mixed Fruit and Yogurt Cupcake by claremanson
Something for my kids today. We have been very naughty lately with all these chocolate, creamy things so thought I'd make them something healthier for them.

Dried mixed fruit (sultanas, currants, raisins and orange and lemon peel) mixed in by my eldest daughter to my usual sponge recipe but with a little less sugar than i usually add. Then piped and topped with natural Greek yogurt with a sprinkle of more dried fruit on top.

Do you think "making" my own yogurt is a good idea? I saw a video recipe that a guy boiled a liter of milk to kill bad bacteria, then cooled it till warm, got a cup of yogurt and poured it all inside and left in a thermal recipient; The next day he had a liter of yogurt. :D

i have never looked into it to be honest but i think it would be great to try, also to look into several different recipes for it to find the one that suites you the most

I haven't had much time to experiment on the kitchen because of job and college. But I'm loving to learn and experiment. I made custard a couple times and it tasted and felt more like porridge - I'm trying to find out how to get it more similar to the custard I ate as cake topping at an old job I had :D

Actually I haven't updated my DA in forever...... now I have an idea what I can update it with. :D

for the past year i have pretty much stuck to the same things, cookies, cakes and cheesecakes. now i'm am getting more confident i am more willing to try out different things, it's just trying to find something that the whole family not just one of them enjoys which is a tough job when i am trying to find more healthy things to make for my kids at the moment

I understand. Cake is good sometimes but too much is not good for little girls :)

I'm sure you'll find awesome healthy stuff to cook! :D

I get ya. I made biscuits like that when I was a kid. They were supposed to be healthy, but they didn't taste right to me. :XD:
