Nutella Mousse by claremanson Nutella Mousse by claremanson
Nutella Mousse with gluten free short crust pastry base (you could use cookies or graham crackers) topped off with melted nutella and crumbled short crust pastry.

Surprisingly the mousse tasted very light and the short crust pastry was so short it tasted like shortbread and worked very well together.

Mousse Recipe
200ml double cream
6-10 tbsp nutella (varies to personal taste, i like mine fairly weak)
Whip cream into soft peaks
melt nutella in the microwave, slowly mix into the cream a tbsp at a time until you get the flavour you want.
If you just want the mousse you are done! spoon into cups, glasses or ramekins, eat straight away or refrigerate for later. 5 minutes to make, seconds to devour :)

I like my desserts to have some bite to them but didn't want more sweetness so went for a plain bite, broken up short crust pastry for the mousse base and to sprinkle on top.

Pastry Recipe
250g gluten free or normal flour
125g butter
4-8tsp of water (the the less water you add the more crumbly it will be)
Mix the flour and butter together with your finger tips, add the water a tsp at a time until you have a nice soft pastry.
Roll out, put it into cases, baked for 15 minutes, let cool and crumble into the base of your cups, glasses or ramekins then add the mousse, add a little left over pastry on top.

I have used this pastry recipe before, it is out of a kids recipe book i have, last time was not gluten free but tasted the same.

Looks lip-smacking good. I'm always trying to find new things to use nutella in (cookies were great) and mousse sounds interesting and easy. Plus I can sprinkle crushed cookies on the top for decoration.

this photo looks really great  you thought about the composition and about where to put the focus to, this is what I can clearly see. Also I thank you very much for the recipe! As I read the titel of your deviation I immediately hoped you might have added the recipe in the artists's comments! and I now I'm really eager to try it out!!!

thank you so much, this comment really does mean a lot to me. I spend as much time, if not more on trying to get the right photo than the actual baking sometimes. I feel if you are going to take the time on making something delicious and delicious looking you should at least try and capture that beauty of the subject for others to see, as best you can anyway when you are not trained in either! :glomp:
I hope you like the mousse as much as we did, i never expected it to taste as delicious as it did and the best thing, you can add as much nutella s you like to make it perfect for you :)

2 ingredients and 5 minutes is all it takes for the basic mousse, a great but very naughty quick and easy treat :)

Well, i think the only problem on my side will be finding the double cream.. In my country, when i try to type this ingredient, i only got cheese... xD
