ooooh, nutella as a frosting! brilliant! although I think I would have to find a way to make it not so super duper sweet it would be too much for me straight like that. maybe mix with cream cheese? hmmm... time to experiment!
Ohhh the raspberries must be a great contrast to the really sweet cake and nutella. Great idea! I probably wouldn't cover them in jam though but enjoy the sour taste cause I love the freshness of it. But I guess children just love the really sweet stuff. Oh and you can make a really good chocolate cream to cover cakes by making buttercream with condensed milk instead of sugar and add some cocoa powder. That works really well except if the cake is still hot because then it melts xD
