Vanilla sugar cookies with Nesquik Strawberry Milkshake icing and various sprinkles. For Valentines Day to show my love for my family, friends and all of you on DA :)

I always use the recipe from the BBC for making cookies that I will be cutting out shapes with at it keeps the shape perfectly while baking [link] it makes a lot of cookie dough, so what I don't use I just freeze for another day.

The icing is icing sugar (powdered/confectioners sugar) milkshake powder and just enough water to make a paste that can be cut out with cutters.

These were so much fun to make. Of the dough I used I split in two, half for me to cut out and decorate and half for my youngest daughter Sasha to do the same with. I got to say I was very impressed with how well she did for her age, she is a natural.


The photo itself I thought just had to match our chaotic baking session with all the added accessories of table cloths, napkins, sprinkles and spare cookies (my kitchen was a complete mess!)

:giggle: V day was never a big thing in school around here plus i was more interested in the day before V day (my birthday) so I never really gave it much thought as by the time it comes I was always busy with my birthday presents.

In my school they made announcement and a special sale thing. Order a rose or a love song. $5 a rose, $10 a love song. :sprint:
Lucky to have your birthday on V day. Seems to make things funner. From what I've heard. Plus you get presents and chocolate (lots of it) for your birthday.

that's a good way for the school to make a bit of money :) A lot of the time over here the kids are on holiday for a week during V day anyway.

The ones that scare us out of our uniforms, everyone knows but could save our lives.
I like how they encourage it but i don't like how they go about doing it. No body is the same so why the same treatment, as the body could feel rotten after. Not so keen about them but SO SOON D: can't escape.

we get them too at different ages for various things, babies, pre-school, pre-teen and teen. A new one especially for young girls was implemented recently causing lots of uproar with parents because of the subject of vaccinating girls at about 10 years old against certain sexually transmitted diseases but I as a parent will happily let my kids get a vaccine than a harmful disease later on.
