Strawberry Trifle Recipe by claremanson Strawberry Trifle Recipe by claremanson
Basic trifle recipe, a great base to play with adding your own extra flavours

Please note ingredients are only a rough guide to amount needed, it all depends on the size of the glasses you use, i tend to only use small sized as i don't make large portion sizes

More of my recipes including oreo truffles, cake balls, mini apple crumbles, honey and gingernut cheesecake, pizza and bread [link]

i love using left over sponge for trifles, most recipes call for those nasty lady finger things but sponge is so much nicer :)

i have never had a chocolate trifle, i don't know why it just does not appeal to me, the ones in the supermarkets look yucky, maybe i will make my own one day as i would probably enjoy that

i think for a chocolate trifle to be good, the cake part has to be soft. i'd go with a flourless chocolate torte for the cake, chocolate pudding from scratch for the thick gooey part, perhaps a little caramel or marshmallow sauce for more goo, and as for fruit, I'm not sure -- strawberries, perhaps, but i'm more a sucker for spices with my chocolate.

dang. now i have to go experiment with this!
