Theme: General Christmas Baking
Rules and requirements:
You must include Christmas into your baking, decorating or surroundings in some shape or form else your entry will not be included.
If what you you usually make isn't very Christmasy looking or tasting then why not try to add some more Christmas into your food by adding Christmas sprinkles onto candy and cupcakes, flavours such as cinnamon or cranberry, themed cupcake cases, festive shaped cookies etc.
You entry must be new for Christmas 2013.
It must be homemade, not shop bought.
Please state in your entry description it is for this contest and include a link to this journal.
Describe your entry in your description box as it is not always obvious by looking at a photo what might be in your food! Having a description gives me a better understanding of what I am looking at and how it might taste, increasing your chances of winning.
I know some of you do not/are not allowed to bake so you may get help making your entry with a parent, partner, friend etc just please state in your entry who helped you.
Finally, one entry per person.
Overall winner:We first eat with our eyes so careful and elegant presentation of the overall dish (not to be confused with food photography) is highly encouraged as this is what I will be looking out for most when judging (clean plating, sharp lines, no mess etc) As well as look, taste is also a huge factor! Some careful and amazing food combinations and complimentary sides and toppings will go a long way for this prize too.
Photography:There will be extra points for the best food photograph. For you photography beginners, check out my food photography basics guide which involves no special or fancy equipment. For the rest of you photographers out there, carry on!
Christmas Photography Examples
Creativity:There will also be extra points for the most creative entry so, for those of you more into the artistic side of things why not try and make your entry in a fancy, new, over the top or unusual way, think outside the box!

In other news, the family are back to normal, just me and my lighthead to get better now so still not properly back on DA for a while yet but the stomach bug is all gone now.
I have also read everyone's opinions on the Christmas baking contest I want to hold this year and have started getting that ready so keep an eye out for that later on in the month.
Going to be inactive for a while longer thanks to my balance problems, still not sure if it is because of my sight or ear but either way being on a computer or phone screen is not good for me right now, makes me extra lightheaded and gives me headaches. My anxiety and panic attacks have also taken a knock from all this illness over the past week. I might have the odd phone photo to share on my facebook page but don't expect anything from me on DA apart from some scheduled group features.
My kids were sick early this week after picking up a stomach bug from a party we went to over the weekend. Yesterday it was my turn, I was in bed all day so had a 12 hour 24 series 3 marathon to pass the time!
Today I have at least made it out of bed for a bit but as I recover it means I won't be very active on DA over the weekend. I haven't baked all week due to the sickness and me suffering from either eye strain or an ear infection again since last Thursday, causing headaches, dizziness, the odd ear ache and aching behind my eye for a week so don't have much to share at the moment anyway.
If you have any questions I will get to them as soon as I am better or you can go over to my Facebook page to inquire about anything www.facebook.com/claremanson as being stuck in bed or on the sofa recovering it means I will be on my phone more than the computer which I use for Facebook but not DA, I don't like the mobile verison.
Those of you who keep up with my journal will know FatalPotato recently won my very first baking contest. As part of her prize, as well as 100 points she gets a well earned journal feature.
There are so many amazing polymer clay miniature foods in FatalPotato's gallery picking out some favourites was a tough challenge as everything is just so realistic but I go there in the end.
There was so much interest that I plan on holding more baking contests in the future as I know some of you currently have other engagements and could not enter this time round.
Onto the winners!
1st Place Overall Winner

The presentation of the cheesecake was amazing! I love the added Oreo design on the inside the glass made out of chocolate. Also the different flavoured Oreo's and mountain of cream on top makes it so inviting, I just want to pick out an oreo and get stuck in using the Oreo's as a spoon.
50 points+mini journal feature
What I loved about this photo was the inclusion of the various ingredients on the side making you know instantly what is in it without having to read the title and description. The matching colours of the table cloth, soft lighting and positioning of all the elements too made this stand out as a winner.
Most Creative Entry
50 points+mini journal feature
This category was the hardest to judge of them all as so many of you took my basic recipe and made it your own but there can only be one winner and this had to be it. Not only did I get one cheesecake presented a certain way but four ways in different glasses and with different topping designs, now that's creative.
The flavours of all of the following entries in particular stood out for me and deserved a mention.
