Still Life Stills Features ChocolateCocoa mass was used originally in Mesoamerica both as a beverage and as an ingredient in foods. Chocolate played a special role in both Maya and Aztec royal and religious events. Priests presented cacao seeds as offerings to the gods and served chocolate drinks during sacred ceremonies. All of the areas that were conquered by the Aztecs that grew cacao beans were ordered to pay them as a tax, or as the Aztecs called it, a "tribute".
The Europeans sweetened and fattened it by adding refined sugar and milk, two ingredients unknown to the Mexicans. By contrast, the Europeans never infused it into their general diet, but have compartmentalized its use to sweets and desserts. In the 19th century, Briton John Cadbury developed an emulsification process to make solid chocolate, creating the modern chocolate bar. Although cocoa is originally from the Americas, today Western Africa produces almost two-thirds of the world's cocoa, with Côte d'Ivoire growing almost half of it.

The summer holidays are about to begin here in the UK which means i will be busy trying to keep the peace between my kids who are like chalk and cheese. They have two very different personalities and clash very easily which makes for a very bad mix when i am trying to bake as my stress levels go through the roo

Still Life Stills Features: PaperPaper, not as boring as you may think!
Origami, books, love notes, messages, the list goes on!

Feature: Naughty but NiceFor some reason when making features i always make new collections with new photos but just realized i already have lots of existing collections with some wonderful things in that need to be shared.
Over the coming weeks i will be using these collections to make my features from. I will be sharing the best, not just from my food collections but from many categories on DA from anime to nature photos and beyond.
Also i will try and make features more frequently to make the most of my subscription. So far i am only featuring about once a week, now i will try and aim for two, maybe three if i have the time.
So lets begin with some naughty but nice snack time treats.

Still Life Stills Features: Making OfI absolutely adore food photography but rarely do I find the time to take photos of ingredients or of the making process so seeing such photos makes a wonderful change.

Feature: Food, food and more food? I love that people can be inspired by food for things other than eating! Jewelry, drawings, sculptures, so much fun can be had with the subject. Enjoy!

Feature: Crafty!I do apologize for my inactivity this past week, it has been a crazy one! I haven't even had a chance to bake anything as i have been so busy with the holidays, long bank holiday weekend and also my other half going away for 5 days for a music festival (of course the weather is really bad for him!) which he won't come back from until Monday.

As many will have noticed, we have a feature on the groups front page highlighting a Still Life Photographer of the week. Our first ever featured deviant was `dragonfly-oli who is now handing the crown over to *1510

Whilst *1510 doesn't have a gallery that's vastly populated with Still Life Photography, I do know that recently she has been investigating and experimenting with the genre a lot and the results have been fantastic to see. Coffee is a slightly acidic (5.0-5.1 pH) brewed beverage with a strong flavor prepared from the roasted seeds of the coffee plant. The beans are found in coffee cherries, which grow on trees cultivated in over 70 countries primarily in equatorial Latin America, Southeast Asia, South Asia and Africa. Green (unroasted) coffee is one of the most traded agricultural commodities in the world.Coffee can have a stimulating effect on humans due to its caffeine content. Lovely pictures.
My former neighbour who is from Eritrea makes excellent coffee, starting with the green beans.... she only makes it on special occasions with traditional equipement (charcoal heater and a very odd-shaped coffee ehh.. pot, it looks more like a pottery flacon) - and I never tasted better coffee
